This Privacy Policy explains what information BoatsFS ("we," "us") collects when you use boatsfs.com (the "Platform"), how we use it, and the choices you have.

2. Information We Collect

Account information: name, email, phone number, and password when you create a buyer, seller, or dealer account.

Dealer & business information: business name, address, and billing details when you register a dealership.

Listing information: boat details, photos, pricing, and location you submit when creating a listing.

Payment information: processed directly by our payment processor, Stripe. BoatsFS does not store your full card number.

Usage data: pages viewed, searches performed, saved boats/searches, and general device/browser information collected automatically to operate and improve the Platform.

3. How We Use Information

We use your information to operate the marketplace (create accounts, publish listings, process dealer subscriptions and add-ons), facilitate communication between buyers and sellers, send transactional emails (receipts, lead notifications, saved-search alerts), maintain marketplace safety (fraud prevention, listing review, verifying dealer identity), and improve the Platform.

4. How We Share Information

We share information with: Sellers/Dealers (when you submit an inquiry, your contact info is shared with the relevant seller); Service providers (Stripe for payments, our hosting and infrastructure providers, and email delivery services) strictly to operate the Platform; and Legal authorities when required by law. We do not sell your personal information to third parties.

5. Cookies & Tracking

We use cookies and similar technologies to keep you signed in, remember preferences, and understand how the Platform is used, including through analytics tools.

6. Your Choices

You can update your account information at any time, unsubscribe from marketing emails via the link in those emails (transactional emails related to your account or listings cannot be opted out of), and request deletion of your account and associated personal data by contacting us through Contact Support, subject to records we're required to retain for legal or accounting purposes.

7. Data Retention

We retain account and listing information for as long as your account is active, and for a reasonable period afterward to comply with legal, tax, and dispute-resolution obligations.

8. Data Security

We use industry-standard measures to protect your information, but no online platform can guarantee absolute security.

9. Children's Privacy

The Platform is not directed to individuals under 18, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above.
